The group split up. Some wanted to run the big waves of Alpine Canyon of the Snake, but I went with Roger and part of the group to run two mellower stretches of the Snake. We had to stop at the Grand Teton National Park visitors' center to pick up permits on the way to the river. After the little canyon run we loaded up and drove to a put-in in the tailwaters of the Jackson Lake Dam. The river ran through a series of oxbows through a wildlife refuge until we took out at Moran Junction. From the takeout I drove through Yellowstone and along the Gallatin River (Misouri trib) to the Storm Castle public river acces, where I spent the night. 275 miles |
