7/10/2006: Arkansas R., Brown's Canyon: Fisherman's/Ruby to Hecla

	Monday morning early, but not so bright, because we would have three cool cloudy days in Colorado, we hit the road: Boulder Creek Road, CO-93, and US-6 to I-70. I-70 would carry us over the front range of the Rockies, passing under the Contiental Divide through the Eisenhower Tunnel. We left I-70 on CO-91 and crossed the Fremont Pass back into the Mssissippi drainage, stopped in Leadville for some sightseeing and souvenir shopping, then headed to Buena Vista. We paddled the Brown's Canyon stretch of the Arkansas River from Fisherman's Bridge to Hecla Junction. The volume was 1080 cfs on the Nathrop gauge. We camped in a designated primitive camping area in the San Isabel National Forest across the river from Buena Vista.. This was the first of only two times we would camp any place for more than a single night. This was also one of only two or three days when we saw someone else on the river with us!
