5/18/2010: Warwoman Cr., Earl's Ford Road roadside to Sandy Ford

| Only Dan and I had run this before, and I was glad of the chance to run it again, with a bit more water than I had the first time. It was still on the low side, but, as with Tellico and Amicalola, completely boatable. We found a wonderful, seemingly endless series of Class III ledge drops before the creek spilled into the Chatooga at Earl's Ford. We then paddled the first three miles of Section III of the Chatooga, which I consider the very best of Section III, to our take-out vehicles parked 30 feet from the river on the Georgia side at Sandy Ford. We ate at the Azteca Mexican restaurant in Clayton, and this time we got back to camp with lots of daylight to spare. |
