7/24/2013: Gallatin R., Deer Creek to Lava Lake Trailhead

| We split the trip this day. Some of the stronger paddlers, including David, put on at the Lava Lake Trailhead and paddled the House Rock section, down to the Storm Castle access. Because that stretch would have been sketchy for a novice paddler, I paddled with Eric, with Donna and several others, on a shortened version of the run they had made the day before. It was a good day on the river and Rick did well. We went back to the Cinnamon restaurant for another fine dinner. This was our 4th and last night at Red Cliffs CG. |
