7/26/2013: Rock Cr. MT, Harry's Flat CG to Sawmill fishing access

| Rock Creek was low and slow, and pretty much flat except for a nice quarter-mile (or less) stretch known as The Dalles. At least we got to see a bear trotting along the adjacent hillside, and a herd of bighorn sheep on the shuttle. David took the day off from boating, and on the way to the put-in we dropped him off at the Welcome Creek trailhead for a hike. We picked him up again on the afternoon shuttle. That night I bit the bullet and ate at Ekstrom's, and found to my surprise that the entrée prices included unlimited salad bar and breads and a small desert, so I must revise my opinion and say that Ekstrom's is a good place to eat between Bozeman and Missoula; not at all over-priced. |
