We left camp early and drove a couple of hours to Ichetucknee Springs State Park. En route, Jenny phoned several campgrounds, and found for us the excellent Ichetucknee Springs Campground, which is suddenly one of my favorite campgrounds. $5/person/night, huge shaded sites, two nice single-stall showers, but a dearth of plumbing facilities; only one single-stall men's room and one single-stall ladies room; too bad, because otherwise this CG seemed ideally suited to tent campers.

After checking in we drove to the north entrance of the state park. First we all walked a half-mile to the Blue Hole Spring, which is open for swimming, then we unloaded boats and ran shuttle to the south entrance of the park.

This was a short but beautiful float, only about 3.5 miles, but suitable for a driving day. Again, good bird- and alligator-watching. That evening we drove to Lake City and ate dinner at a Texas Longhorn restaurant.
