We drove five minutes to the Wye where we all changed clothes and loaded people and gear into the three put-in vehicles, and drove ten minutes farther to the put-in (though we had to spend another ten minutes driving beyond it to find a safe place to turn the vehicles around).
This is another wonderful stretch of whitewater; a little easier than the Upper Little, and, like the other stretches of the Little, when you are floating this stretch you become a tourist attraction, so be sure to wear your Kodak face.
After paddling we took the Foothills Parkway again, to US-129 north, US-411 south, and TN-68 south to Tellico Plains. We all had fine meals (most of us ordered the delicious stuffed trout) at the Tellicafé, then wound our way up Tellico River Road and the North River Road to the fine USFS North River Campground, where we watched the usual firefly light-show.
