9/8/2019, Colorado R.: Grand Canyon

With: David Blumberg, Merridee Harper, Van Moss, Rhonda McDougall

I was up at 5:15 AM to get a last hot shower, get my drybags to the pick-up point, and get breakfast with David and Meridee, Vann and Rhonda, to leave on the AzRA bus at 7:00.

En route to the river we stopped at a tourist trap named the Cameron Trading Post, and stopped again near Lee's Ferry so that we could all walk across the Navajo Bridge over the Colorado.

Once at Lee's Ferry we had lunch at noon, had a talk from John Petty, our trip leader, and then loaded up. I rode Ben's raft. That first day we made only eight miles, and were at the Badger Creek campground by 4:30.
